Customer Background
A long-established U.S. brand specializing in professional barbering and grooming tools approached us to develop a premium magnetic barber mat.
The customer provided a flat design and required us to transform it into a durable 3D PVC product with six high-strength magnets. Reliable magnetic holding power and consistent production quality were the key requirements.
Engineering Response
Challenges & Solutions
The main challenge was combining six powerful magnets with a detailed 3D surface while ensuring that professional clippers remained securely in place. After confirming the construction with the customer, we developed the mold and repeatedly tested the magnetic strength during sampling. The finished mat could securely hold heavy clippers even when the mat was lifted or moved.
After sample approval, the customer placed an initial order for 20,000 pieces for an important event. To meet the deadline while controlling shipping costs, we arranged split delivery: a small first batch was sent by air, while the remaining quantity was delivered by sea. The first shipment arrived in time for the event.
The customer later requested a second mat in a custom shape.
The first printed sample did not provide the dimensional finish expected by the customer, so we redeveloped it with a molded 3D texture. The revised sample was approved and resulted in a further order for 30,000 pieces.
